The Original D&D Dungeon Map
A downloadable map
This is a refined version of the original example map from the 1st Edition D&D's third rulebook "The Underworld & Wilderness Adventures".
While it can of course be run as-is, the rulebook will be required to know what all the areas are intended to be. The rules are not included with the map.
Two versions of the map are provided: One with all the traps and secret things, and one without, for the purpose of digital or physical tabletop play (Fun fact: back in the day there was a dedicated mapper who had to draw a map based on descriptions from the DM, which the diagonal areas on this one were meant to mess with.)
Given the rulebook's drawing is small and uneven, I did my best to make it as accurate as possible. The triangle area is the most questionable, but everything else is in correct relation to each other, so at the very least it's as close as reasonably possible.
Credit to MarkGosbell for the mapping assets, though I did tweak some and added a few of my own, as well as made the floor tiles and walls myself. Map design credit to Gary Gygax and/or Dave Arneson.
